Some Doubts You May Have Before Joining Our Yoga Retreat or TTC

FAQs - Questions You May Have

Yes. Bali has several yoga teacher training programs designed for beginners and for students with previous yoga experience. Foundational courses provide training in practices in a progressive and step by step way. As a result, students build their confidence with beginner level poses and don’t require a high degree of flexibility or experience teaching yoga. A positive learning environment allows students to learn at their own pace.

Yoga teacher training courses cover the practice of asanas, pranayama and meditation, as well as philosophy of yoga, anatomy and physiology, alignment, and adjustments and teaching methods. Students are offered a variety of practical and theoretical classes to provide a deeper context for the role of various practices in teaching and patiently engaged personal practice.

This varies depending on the program you choose. Foundation level training will take around 2 weeks. The 200 Hour and the 300 Hour programs take much longer to complete. To find out how long the course will take, have a look at the daily learning structure of the different course schedules.

Yoga teacher training is a comprehensive study of yoga that also incorporates the structuring of teaching; retreats are more focused on personal yoga practice and relaxation. While retreats are a good alternative for a beginner, if one is looking to study and teach, they need to commit to a more extensive teacher training course. It's all about education or personal practice/relaxation.

Your selection of program depends on your previous experience, the time you have available and the reasons for your trip. If you choose a 100 Hour course then you will gain a foundation of some teaching principles. Choosing a 200 Hour course will give you more of a foundation to teach. Choosing a 300 Hour course will give you a solid foundation of teaching principles. Think also about your future goals when selecting a training, especially if you are taking a longer program.

A 200 Hour course will provide you with the basic skills and knowledge to start your career as a yoga teacher. A course of this nature will cover teaching methodology, anatomy and physiology, basic alignment, beginning sequencing and instructional techniques, the fundamentals of pranayama and meditation, and an introduction to yogic philosophy. Teaching yoga is of course an ongoing learning experience with the goal of always deepening your practice.

Bali has serene and beautiful surroundings with a well established yoga and wellness culture. Students have the opportunity to step away from the demands of their schedule, focus on their yoga practice and personal growth, and study and meditate. There are also outstanding nature’s surroundings, and Bali has an international yoga community, which provides an inspirational environment for students from different nations.

Curriculum, instructors, teaching methods, and experience level are all factors you must consider, as well as everyday schedules, meals and accommodations, certifications, and the overall learning experience. You also have to consider your time and other personal factors. Knowledge of the program provides a better basis for your decision.

Absolutely. Bali Yogashala offers 100 Hour, 200 Hour, and 300 Hour Yoga Teacher Training programs as well as retreat programs. This gives students the opportunity to take a teacher training program while others can take a shorter program and focus more on the practice of yoga, relaxation, mindfulness, and general self well-being and personal yoga practice.

You should become familiar with the program requirements, the daily course schedule, the accommodation, what to bring for training, and what to expect. It’s also important to develop a consistent personal practice leading up to the training. Your decision to show up with an open mind and eagerness to learn will create a positive outcome for your training experience.
